Medical Escort and Transport (MET)
Providing seniors with transportation and/or a companion to safely get to and from medical appointments.
Ensuring a Safe Journey to Medical Appointments
We provide a range of home-based and community-based services to meet the diverse needs of seniors to support ageing in community. Our Medical Escort and Transport service is one of many services that serves this purpose.
Depending on their individual needs, seniors can apply for one or both services below:
- Wheelchair-accessible Transport Services
Provides transportation from the senior’s home to selected polyclinics or hospitals and back home.
- Medical Escort Service
A trained medical escort will accompany the senior to and from their home and stay with them throughout the medical appointment.
Who It’s For
Our MET service is available to seniors who:
- Need help to move around
- Have no caregiver or whose caregiver is unable to provide support because of their own health and physical condition
- Reside near our TOUCH Home Care centres service boundaries, namely Ang Mo Kio, Bishan, Sin Ming, Toa Payoh, Whampoa, Bendemeer, Potong Pasir, Jurong, Boon Lay

How to Apply
You may do one of the following:
- Approach a doctor at a hospital or polyclinic to submit an online application for you
- Contact the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) at 1800 650 6060 or email enquiries@aic.sg

What You Can Expect
Initial assessment
After receiving your referral, we will call you to gather more information about your needs, including your preferred transport option.
Costs
Our service support team will contact you to inform you of the charges. Subsidies may be available. Means testing will determine your eligibility and the level of subsidy. The means test is based on household income per capita or annual value of your residence.
Service Details
During the medical escort visit, our escort will pick you up from your home and accompany you to the transportation vehicle provided.
Our escort will be with you throughout your hospital/polyclinic visit and proceed to bring you home after your appointment.
