A mentoring programme that provides an inclusive community for youths with different abilities, and develops their strengths to make them future-ready.​

Empowering Youth to Achieve Their Full Potential

The Aptitude Buddy Club mentoring programme is organised by Aptitude Centres located in ITE College East and ITE College West.  

The programme seeks to support youths in the following areas: 

  1. Cultivate a positive mindset to overcome challenges with resilience. 
  2. Develop skills and competencies to be future-ready and thrive in various aspects of life. 
  3. Foster community living skills, build positive peer relationships and social interactions.  

Youths are invited to participate in the following activities:  

Centre Engagement

A safe space for youths to socialise, make new friends and build a community through fun and games. 

Interest Groups

Explore different industries and gain exposure to learn new skills. Interest groups include Barista, Leadership & Adventure, Fitness and Photography.

Workshops

Develop technical skills and soft skills through our experiential learning workshops to improve peer-to-peer relationships. Topics covered include personality profiling, relationship management, and resume and interview preparation and many more. 

Service-Learning

Students are equipped with critical thinking and problem-solving skills to give back to the community. They learn to interact with and serve individuals of various demographics and abilities.

Past projects include National Day Celebrations with clients from TOUCH Centre for Independent Living, Mini-carnival for seniors from TOUCHpoint@AMK433, and providing Exam Blessing Packs to encourage fellow students. 

Who It’s For

Currently available at ITE College East and ITE College West, Aptitude Buddy Club caters to two groups of students: 

  • Aspiring peer support leaders 
  • Youths with special educational needs  

What To Expect

  • A nurturing and inclusive community of students and mentors with opportunities to develop social skills and be better prepared for the future 
  • Gain insights to various industries and explore potential interests or alternative career pathways through interest groups (held during the term breaks) 
  • Students who participate in ABC activities can gain enrichment hours, as well as certificates and testimonials 
  • All sessions are fully funded with no fees involved
