TOUCH Young Arrows provides a mentoring programme that serves children aged 5-14, from low-income and/or single-parent families, through free academic coaching (English & Mathematics) and values-driven activities.
TYA clubs run weekly on Saturday mornings or afternoons. To volunteer as a Children Mentor, be prepared to commit 3 hours weekly and for more than 12 months. As it requires a regular weekly commitment, it is prudent to consider a suitable club location that works for you. Matching the respective club’s volunteering needs will also increase the chances of fulfilling your volunteering aspiration promptly.
Your primary role involves:
A: No. But you should be comfortable in giving tuition in English and Mathematics and familiar with Singapore Education System and Curriculum.
A: Yes, you can. However, you must possess good English literacy and numeracy skills and willing to learn the differences in the curriculum.
A: Children will need a consistent volunteer. Hence, we will not be accepting volunteers who cannot commit.
