Enriching and Integrating Lives to Build Stronger Communities

Funded by SG Enable, RAISE is a short-term skills and outcome-based training programme which provides structured support for persons with disabilities. Through this pilot programme, participants gain essential life skills that are crucial in day-to-day living at home and in the community.

Their caregivers will also receive training to help them better support their ward’s development at home.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Adults with congenital disabilities 
  • Aged 18 to 64 
  • Has the ability to follow instructions 
  • Has an identified safe person, such as a caregiver, to work with them throughout the programme 
  • Has training gaps in the areas of: 
    • Daily living skills 
    • Community living skills 
    • Personal social skills

What You Can Expect

The programme is run by a multidisciplinary team of professionals who work together to address the needs of our clients in a collaborative and integrated way. This team includes:

  • A social worker 
  • A life skills coach 
  • Other professionals as needed (e.g., occupational therapist, psychologist, physiotherapist) 

The primary role of the life skills coach and the social worker is to:

  • Assess the client’s strengths and needs 
  • Develop individual training goals and plans 
  • Conduct the training sessions with the client 

Upon graduating from RAISE, we are confident that our clients will be able to utilise their newly acquired skills to pursue independent living as well as interact and socialise with the wider community.
