Community Health Screening for Seniors

Promoting Health Through Early Detection and Intervention

At TOUCH, we provide a range of community-based services to meet the diverse needs of our seniors.

Held once or twice a year, the Community Health Screening is a means for seniors to learn about any age-related ailments they might have early. This allows them to seek timely intervention to improve their quality of life.

The screening is subsidised for Pioneer Generation, Merdeka Generation, and CHAS card holders. The cost ranges between $0 to a maximum of $5.

What You Can Expect

The health screening includes:

• Eye checks: To test your vision, you will be asked to read off a chart while standing a distance away. The results of this test will determine if you need spectacles or any further follow-up tests
• Ear checks: You will be asked to fill in a simple questionnaire your hearing ability. We will check your ear canal and your ability to hear sounds of different frequencies and volumes
• Mouth checks: A simple and painless check will be conducted on eight aspects of your oral health: lips, tongue, gums and tissues, saliva, natural teeth, dentures, oral cleanliness, and dental pain

Preparing for screening

• Bring your NRIC, Pioneer Generation, or CHAS card on screening day
• Bring all assistive devices you are using (e.g., dentures, spectacles, hearing aids) if you are doing functional screening
• Refer to the preparation list advised by centre during registration for the screening
