Art Gives Back

Art Gives Back

Eight prominent and locally-acclaimed artists from the local arts community came together and contributed their works in the name of charity. The artists, including Cultural Medallion for Art awardees, Chong Fah Cheong, Han Sai Por and Chng Seok Tin, donated 17 of their art pieces comprising paintings, drawings and sculptures for Art Gives Back, a charity art exhibition by TOUCH Community Services (TOUCH) from 10 to 11 December 2016 at The Arts House.

Other artists whose artworks were featured include Choy Weng Yang, Jeffrey Wandly, Liang-Gek Cheng, Raymond Lau and Sun Yu-Li. Apart from the breathtaking art pieces by the eight renowned artists, the inaugural Art Gives Back also showcased over 40 paintings by 23 adults with intellectual disabilities from TOUCH, including the iconic hand-painted piece by Annie Teo, Rose, featured at the National Day Parade 2016.

All art works at Art Gives Back were made available for purchase and proceeds will go towards supporting the programmes of TOUCH in helping people with intellectual disabilities gain independence through daily living, personal, social, and pre-employment skills training.
