“Dream big, but take simple first steps” shared Founding Chairman, Mr Lawrence Khong, as TOUCH celebrated 30 years of inspiring hope and transforming lives at the 30th Anniversary Staff Dinner last Saturday.

It was a celebration that gathered the whole organisation physically since the pandemic, and it was a milestone event that would be a memorable one for some 370 staff and Board Members present.

Reflecting on how TOUCH has grown from a service for latch-key students to having 23 services serving the community, Mr Khong shared how social issues are often intertwined and reemphasised the importance of an integrated approach. “And that is why we take a comprehensive and integrated approach to social services, where we find resources within the community to enable the people, so that no one will be isolated and left behind.”

Staff Dinner (4)
Many were dressed according to the evening’s theme of ‘Starry Starry Night’, but there is no doubt that the evening belonged to the Stars without whom the organisation would not have come so far.

Leading the evening’s tributes to those who made it all happen, Chief Executive Officer, Mr James Tan shared how the evening was one of thanksgiving and gratefulness amidst the celebrations. Apart from honouring Founding Chairman’s 30 years of inspirational leadership, TOUCH’s first Executive Director Mr Eugene Seow and Board Members were recognised for their contribution to the organisation.

Mr Tan also paid tribute to the TOUCH leadership team, saying “They are committed leaders who journeyed with me to bring the necessary changes, and supported me to take the organisation even further as we work towards Vision 2030.”

The accolades continued with staff who received their Long Service Awards, with the thunderous applause for Senior Director, Julia Lee, who commemorated her 30 years of contribution to the organisation and community.

It has been a consistent journey of faith, working as one team and serving with gratitude these 30 years. The road ahead is one that the staff and leadership of TOUCH will continue to traverse and hold true to our vision.
