As part of the activities for Dementia Singapore’s Walk2Remember 2021, put together by the Ang Mo Kio Partners’ Network and anchored by TOUCH Community Services, educational and interactive installations were placed around Ang Mo Kio town to create a more inclusive and Dementia Friendly Community (iDFC) – an initiative of TOUCH supported by the The Majurity Trust.

Through the month of September and in conjunction with World Alzheimer’s Month, residents were encouraged to take their loved ones on a trip across the world while learning practical tips about dementia care and where to get help. These 3D floor stickers depict historical landmarks like the Great Wall of China, Eiffel Tower, Pyramids and San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge.

As one of the organising partners for the iDFC webinars, TOUCH collaborated with grassroots and community partners to conduct talks on navigating health and social resources to help individuals better manage frailty and dementia.

Started in 2018 by four students from the Nanyang Technological University as a pioneering health communications campaign, the Walk2Remember Campaign seeks to promote intergenerational walking habits to combat dementia in Singapore, which culminated with a Walkathon at Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park in 2019.
