Rain or shine, 76-year-old Mdm Chew Siew Lay has been faithfully coming to TOUCHpoint@AMK 433 for her regular exercises. More activities have been organised for residents like Mdm Chew following the Ministry of Health’s announcement for the resumption of small group senior-centric activities with safety measures in place.  For at start, these include handphone coaching, virtual and physical exercise sessions and small group dance sessions.

“I was bored doing things on my own for so long. Being able to exercise together with my neighbours at TOUCHpoint makes a big difference. I enjoy learning Belly Dancing together with them too. As I have weak joints, I can sit on the chair and sway my arms. It doesn’t matter if we laugh at one another’s mistake as we are friends. I feel energised!” said Mdm Chew.

Residents have also joined in the HAPPY Ageing Promotion Programme For You (HAPPY) sessions conducted by trained staff from TOUCH Senior Activity Centre to promote physical and mental health.  Seniors who have no handphones or have no access to Zoom can also drop by TOUCHpoint@AMK 433 to attend the virtual sessions. They can also seek help from TOUCH staff to learn how to navigate their smart phones and virtual platforms.
